How much does it cost to use this service?

No. You should not.

Without the full involvement of your team, they will not know what is required of in the management standard. This will lead to failures during certification. Also, there will be no ownership from team members leading to accountability issues once the consultant leaves your organization at project completion.

Can I leave everything to the consultant to complete till the certification day?

Our Engagement terms and conditions cover this by a non-disclosure clause. If you require us to sign an additional non-disclosure agreement (NDA), forward it to us for endorsement. With the NDA, we should be allowed to move forward with the project.

We are concerned about confidential areas. How do you address this?

The required team members are those in charge of departmental functions within the scope of business activity, such as operations, sales, procurement, supply chain, and product development.

Please indicate the site business functions when you request for an estimate at the RFQ page. With this information, we can advise you on your scope of certification and team composition.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are two parts to the certification process. First is the management system development. This part requires us to work with your team. The second part is the certification process, where your team is required to demonstrate implementation of your processes to the external certification auditors. We cannot guarantee success if your team does not implement what is needed.

Furthermore, the consultant and the certification auditors are two independent entities. The preservation of independence is crucial for any legitimate accredited certification body. A breach of independence is a breach of accreditation rules, hence putting your certification at risk. There have been cases of client certification suspension owing to trust issues with the certification body. You could be an innocent victim if your certification is suspended by accreditation bodies.

Rest assured, with almost 3 decades of management system domain work, we know who the trusted certification bodies in the industry are.

I have heard of packaged deals where the consultant guarantees the certification. Is this legit?

Here is a pro tip.

Conducting a gap review is the cheapest way to adopt a standard instead of spending money on a full-blown adoption project and later finding that the standard is unsuitable. The identified gaps will allow you to assess the depth of work and the needed resources (time, human resources, and finances). When the gaps are closed, your business would have adopted the standard fully.

We provide a gap review assessment service through our internal audit service. To learn more about this service, click here.

My business is not certified to any management standard. What is the cheapest way to start.?

Most businesses compete on price because there is no other value proposition to offer the customer. Self-proclamation of being the best is just that. Certification means you are no longer saying you are the best, but an independent assessment body attests to your capabilities.

Also, with a formal management system in place, continual improvement, a cornerstone of the standard, mandates improvement to your processes, products, and services. With every improvement, your customer value proposition increases. Today, we are seeing more customer purchase terms requiring some form of certification.

I compete on price. Do customers care if my business is certified?

Management standards provide a formal process framework for any business. Once formalized, there is better control over the outcomes of the operation. When your organization is certified to a management standard, your customers will know that you have the necessary processes in place to showcase your capabilities.

What is the key benefit of adopting management standards?
